County Fair 2012
What a beautiful day to perform at the County Fair. Most of us met at my house and we caravaned to the State Fair Grounds. Kelley, Carol and Jessie met us there and we entered the fair ground on time!!! That is a huge feat with 15 belly dancers and entourage to be anywhere at 9:30 in the morning :-)
We got to the stage and found that it wasn't covered with carpet or outdoor grass but loaded with staples sticking up everywhere. Every one jumped into action and started pulling out staples so those performing barefoot would cut their feet up.
I forgot my camera and had to go back to the car and get and this was after having to run back into the house to get it before we left. So just when the sword dance started my camera's battery died!!!! Melissa was so kind to take photos for us and then my camera dies. Of course I had the case on stage with a charged battery in it! We got some good shots; thanks Melissa.
I was worried about a few numbers and everyone did awesome!!!! The sword with veil routine is what the intermediate tribal class is learning this session and they did marvelous! When the veils came off the swords stayed on the heads; I was so proud!!! I was worried about the tray dance and I remembered it with no problem and no sword or tray hit the ground so for the props it was a very good day :-)
Below are a few photos from the day.
Next performance is class recital on May 9th!
