What a fun day at the County Fair!!!! Thank you ladies for being on time and doing such a great job performing!!! I had such a great time and the kettle corn on the way home hit the spot :-)
I was actually ready when everyone arrived at my house to carpool and caravan to the County Fair. Sorry Paula I lost you and Debbie on the freeway. It was so nice to see three cars waiting at the drive way entrance of the fair grounds so we could all enter at the same time. We made it to the stage on time and no one was performing so we had plenty of time to take photos and clean the stage.
We finally figured out how to run the sound system and we were ready to go. The music started and the Cabaret class started us off. The audience started to file in and by the end of the show we had a nice group watching us perform.
It was so nice watching everyone perform between dances I was in. Being able to sit on stage with everyone, dance, watch, clap, laugh and hang with everyone was such an awesome time.
Through the entire performance all we could smell was the kettle corn that was right next to the stage! Being enticed during the show I went to buy a bag for the ride home so the 5 of us could enjoy it. Katie's mom was also purchasing a bag and she bought us one also. Thanks Katie's mom for the water and the kettle corn you Rock!!!!
Thank you Kelley for taking such wonderful photos and running our music; excellent job.
Below are photos from our performance. The first photo is a group shot before we started the show. Top row is left to right Melissa, Paula, Debbie and Katie. Second row kneeling Dena, Lisa and Elizabeth and sitting on stage is Christine, myself and Carol.
State Fair will be in October...

Last Class Recital March 2011
Last class recital was awesome!!!!!! It was the best recital and my students did fantastic!!! After warming up all my classes and running through the routines we started the evening with a group photo.
The first performance of the evening was the drum class playing several rhythms they learned in their very first class and thanks to the many dancers that got up and danced to their music. I was proud of the drummers they were wonderful.
The Tuesday beginning class was up next performing their routine, "Dance of Life". Next up was the beginning Wednesday class performing with Voi. Sorry ladies that we didn't have much room to perform our dance. You were all real troopers continuing to dance when your voi was hitting the wall and getting tangle with other dancers. Next session no prop! :-)
The beginning Thursday tribal performed their drum solo and rocked the house. The beginning Wednesday tribal class I apologise to you all also for lack of room to perform our veil dance. I think I hit Lisa several times during the dance; sorry Lisa.
The intermediate Tuesday class was tremendous with their zill routine!!! I started the dance off way too fast as I always do and they stayed with me the entire time; way to go ladies!
The evening ended with the intermediate tribal class perform their tray dance and it was amazing. I haven't had a chance to check out the video and will be making a short video clip of all the dances and will be posting it to this blog soon.
Below are photos that Rachel took of the performances she wasn't in and that I took with of folks in the audience watching the show.
MAC Classes start March 22nd, 23rd and 24th with my MCC classes starting on March 21st. Hope to see you all back in class. Take care...

Light Parade
What a fun day 3 workshops in the morning and early afternoon than off to the light parade in downtown Chandler.
For this years parade we performed with hand candles and tried to dance to music out of CD player that no one could hear. Next year we will have drummers again!!!
Everyone looked so nice decked out in lights and glow sticks; nice job ladies.

Community Spirit, City of Mesa Talent Show November 13, 2010
What a fun time we had last night performing at the Community Spirit show at the Mesa Amphitheater. We were one of five acts that night raising money for Hawthorne Elementary School in Mesa.
This was the 2nd annual talent show put on by the City of Mesa. This year you did not need to be a City employee they opened it up to any one in the community.
We went on 2nd and performed in front of the stage on the cheerleaders mat which was very interesting when it came to turns :-) We did 3 numbers starting out with candles, than Pentaphobe and ending with Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.
We watched the rest of the show before heading over to Grandma's Kitchen to dance some more.
Thank you everyone for volunteering your time to help raise money and congrats to Melissa for winning 2 door prizes and I also one a door prize, dinner at BJ's Restaurant!
Below are photos of us back stage before we went on. Thanks to the cheerleader that took the group shot!
Our next event is the Parade of Lights in downtown Chandler on December 4th.

State Fair October 2010
On Saturday October 30, 2010 thirteen of us performed at the State Fair and had a blast. We opened the fair at 10 in the morning and performed for an hour.
Below is a group photo before we went on taken by the sound guy.
After the fair I rushed home to get ready to teach a basic belly dance workshop at Simplicity Yoga in Mesa. I had 10 students and I taught them basic moves and a beginning drum solo dance. This group was so much fun I can't wait to go back and teach another workshop.
Below is a photo after the workshop.
We have more events coming up this weekend at the block party on Main Street in downtown Mesa and the City of Mesa Talent Show the next night at the Mesa Amphitheater and after this show off to Desert Mirage at Grandma's Kitchen located on Main and Country Club.
Hope to see you at one of the many events coming up through the end of the year.
