It has been awhile since my last blog.  A lot has happened since the last time; some things were sad, the closing of Shimmy Bliss and some things are exciting, my new hobby of photography.  Well I'm back to start blogging about belly dancing again :-)

I'm teaching veil this session to my beginning cabaret basic class and to my intermediate class so I thought we would talk about silk veils and how to care for them.  Below are some articles on this topic.

A life long dream of mine was to be a photographer and my dream is coming true!!!

I have the best husband in the world, he gave me a Nikon D5200 DSLR camera for Christmas last year and I've been going crazy taking photos of everything. 

My main focus is taking photos of belly dancers (of course what else :-) ) and I'm surprising myself of the photos I'm taking.

I have so much to learn and I'm enjoying every minute of being behind my camera.

Fusion Day 2015

Mark your calendars for Saturday July 11th from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Enjoy a day of shopping, workshops, networking with other dancers, show and  having fun. 
The event will be held at the Women's Club of Mesa - 200 N. Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201 (cross streets - University & Center)

Workshops for the day will be taught by Becka Bomb, Divine Chaos and Yasmina
Vending with DSD Medieval Needle, Pamela's Treasure Emporium, Rukshana Raks and Annwyn will be back with Henna by Annwyn.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for shopping with the first workshop starting at 9:00 a.m.  Shopping will be all day from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Stop by and shop even if you can't make the workshops.

This year we will be having an evening show from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30.  Enjoy an evening of belly dancing performed by workshop participants and instructors.  Show is $5.

Vintage Style Belly Dance for the Intermediate Cabaret Class

Summer Session Starting June 3rd, 4th & 5th

The summer session of belly dance classes at the Mesa Arts Center is starting soon!  Registration for classes in going on now.

Tuesday night is cabaret night with beginning 2 learning a veil routine and the intermediate class will be going vintage style with their new dance routine.  I already have the beginning 2 veil dance online on YouTube.

Wednesday night is tribal night with 2 new dance routines.  Beginning tribal 2 class will be learning a 1920's fusion style dance to a cool jazzy piece of vintage music and the intermediate class will be dancing to Black Velvet.  You say we've done Black Velvet, yes we have but not this choreography; totally new dance! :-)

Thursday is Bellyrobics at it's new night then beginning cabaret basic followed by beginning tribal basic.  Both basic classes with be learning a choreography along with moves.  Both dances are up on YouTube, cabaret routine - tribal routine.
